This Privacy Policy applies to WindyTown.com, any other websites operated by Windy Town that link to this policy, and the Windy Town universal applications for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how Windy Town ("Windy Town," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information obtained through our Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service by reference. By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

App Data and Local Storage

Our applications are designed with a privacy-first approach.

Local Data: Application preferences, settings, user configurations, and practice data (such as practice schedules, practice logs, and timer and metronome settings) are stored entirely locally on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or store this local application data on our servers.

Microphone and Recordings: The TrumpetStudio application includes a "Record Yourself" practice feature that uses your device's microphone. The microphone is accessed only when you actively start a recording, and only after you grant permission through your device's operating system. You may revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; doing so disables recording features but does not affect the rest of the application.

Audio recordings you create are stored solely on your device within the application's private storage. Recordings are never uploaded, transmitted, analyzed, collected by, or accessible to Windy Town or any third party through the Services — no audio ever leaves your device. Deleting a recording within the application, or deleting the application itself, permanently removes those recordings. Because we never receive your recordings, we cannot access, restore, or recover them, and we recommend maintaining your own backups of any recordings you wish to keep.

Automatically Collected Information & Analytics

When you use our website or applications, we or our third-party service providers may automatically collect limited technical data:

Website: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and access times via cookies and similar technologies to maintain website functionality.

Applications: Performance metrics, crash logs, and diagnostic data provided securely through Apple's developer ecosystem. This data is aggregated, anonymized, and used solely to maintain application stability and improve user experience.

How We Use Information

Children's Privacy

Our website and applications are not intended to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that such information has been inadvertently collected, we will take immediate steps to delete it.
